The Autry celebrates this Mexican tradition in which children portray Mary and Joseph in their journey from Egypt to seek shelter in Bethlehem prior to the birth of baby Jesus, while adults portray the innkeepers urging them in song to move on. A singing procession will take place throughout the museum, with the “inns” at the gallery entrances. Afterward, there will be a grand celebration with hot chocolate and cookies on the plaza.
